Tim Jackett has spent decades refining what a 30-plus-foot performance cruiser should be — hull designs for Tartan, C&C, Blue Jacket and a long list of custom projects along the way. The Blue Jacket 37 is his latest word on the subject: a hull that doesn't chase trends, distributing volume evenly through her length for a balanced, well-mannered ride when the conditions get honest.
Her long waterline relative to overall length promises long, comfortable daily passages under cruising sail — and real performance for owners with a racing bug they haven't quite shaken. The underwater foils are shaped for confident handling both upwind and off the breeze, and a choice of keels keeps ballast low and center-of-gravity down no matter which one an owner specs.
Built Off Shore Ready.
The Blue Jacket 37 hull is built using a vacuum-bagged resin infusion process with modified epoxy/vinylester resin, multi-axial E-glass reinforcements, and precision-cut closed-cell PVC foam coring — producing a laminate that's lighter, stiffer, and stronger than conventional hand-laid construction. At every hull penetration, coring is omitted and replaced with solid E-glass. The internal fiberglass structural grid that carries rig and keel loads is directly bonded and glass-taped to the hull, and the whole package is built
to meet or exceed American Bureau of Shipping scantlings for offshore sailing yachts.
At a designed displacement of 15,700 lbs (deep fin), the 37 carries a Disp/Length ratio of 194 and a ballast ratio of 38% - light and stiff without asking her owner to trade away offshore manners. The STIX rating backs up what the numbers already suggest: this is a genuine offshore-capable cruiser in a size that's easy to own & easy to sail.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Benefiting from a high-volume hull, the interior of the Blue Jacket 37 punches well above her length. The standard two-cabin arrangement pairs two comfortable double berths with extensive storage for owners or guests. In the main cabin, full bunk-length settees (with a u-shaped settee to starboard) flank a large drop-leaf table, ready to seat a full complement of guests for the evening.
The L-shaped galley is fit with either an LPG stove/oven or electric cooktop, plenty of counter space and a drawer-style refrigerator with dedicated trash management. To port, the chart table offers real space for electronics and doubles as a workplace when the office is far away.
And the head, well it just might be the best one aboard a boat this size: a stall shower with a seat, a wet locker and linen locker outboard and a door that opens directly to the port cockpit locker. Solid hardwood cabinetry, available in a variety of species, ties it all together with the warmth expected of a Blue Jacket.

The Blue Jacket 37's sail plan is tall and powerful for her size - coupled with a long waterline and a low-wetted-surface hull, she'll drive up to and beyond her theoretical hull speed without drama.
A self-tacking jib makes upwind sailing effortless, and once the sheets are cracked and the 155% masthead reacher is unfurled, the 37 rewards her crew in every condition. Upwind, she carries an SA/Disp ratio of 19.0 (deep fin); off the wind with the reacher flying, that climbs to 27.6 — numbers that back up a rig built to reward a sailing couple, not demand a racing crew.
Sail controls are internal and led aft: single-line reefing, a 2:1 outhaul, and a rod vang all lead to the cockpit winches. A double-spreader aluminum mast, Harken MKIV Ocean furlers on both the jib and reacher, and a low-friction Switch Track mainsail system mean the 37 is as enjoyable to trim and tweak as she is to simply point and go.

The Blue Jacket 37 is offered with a choice of two keel configurations, each cast from 4% antimonial lead for improved grounding strength and template-ground for fit and performance. Both are through-bolted to the hull with cast-in-place 316 stainless steel bolts exceeding ABS offshore standards. Whether the plan is bluewater passages or skinny coastal water, the 37 can be specified to match — without giving up an inch of her offshore credentials.
