FANTAIL CLUB 245

Keep it Simple, Safe & Fun.
A 24-foot, trailerable daysailer with a lifting keel, built for sailing schools, clubs, and families.
The Fantail Club 245 started with a sailing-school director who knew what a teaching boat should be. Cai Svendsen shared his ideas with Tim Jackett, and Jackett designed a boat around them. The result is a 24-footer that holds a group of students and an instructor, or a couple out for a harbor sail. Its motto is simple: keep it simple, keep it safe, keep it fun.
The lifting keel is what sets the 245 apart. Lowered, she draws 4'6" and sails with a high-aspect NACA foil. Raised, she draws just 1'8", so you can explore shallow water, beach her and launch from a ramp. At 2,750 pounds, she tows behind an ordinary vehicle. The cassette rudder lifts out for trailering or to clear debris on the water. A slide-on outboard mount keeps power simple.
The cockpit is open and roomy, with molded storage nooks for personal gear. Sail trim is easy to learn and rewarding to tune. The setup includes a 4:1 mainsheet, pin-stop adjustable jib tracks, jib in-haulers, cam cleats at every winch and house-top controls led to cam cleats. Cunninghams on both main and jib let sailors learn real sail shape.
